I am installing the rubber boot on the cylinder and it is supposed to also have a 2 piece metal boot over the levers. Does anyone have a picture of what they look like and any idea where to find them? We are restoring this car for a customer and he wants everything on and functioning. I know a lot of guys eliminate the whole vacuum shift mess but I can not. Thanks for any help anyone has

Here are pictures of the parts minus the rubber boot for vacuum shift for the years 1940-48, and the rubber and metal tubing used on the vacuum lines. Let me know what you want and I will quote you a price. Sometimes, ebay has parts. Adjusting the transmission linkage is not easy, a lot of trial and error, and consulting the manual. When you add adjusting the vacuum shift to the mix you open another can of worms. A washer (gauge) about 3/8" thick is also used to adjust the vacuum.

Vacuum Shift

Good luck, Mike

I am looking for 2 two piece metal cover that covers the linkage. You show it in the first picture. What do you want for that? I bought the adjusting washer from chevsofthe40s and adjusted the linkage. It turned out fine.

Sorry, but since I did not hear from you I sold everything in the picture. You could try a few junk yards that carry historic vehicles. The first place I always look is ebay.

Good luck, Mike

P.S. The person I sold them to is regularly on our site so if he doesn't need the parts I am sure he will give you a heads up!!!!
