Good morning all, I'm certain this will be the first of many posts I will be making here. I might have gone over my head on this one. A friend has asked me to replace the timing gear in his 33 sedan. Iv never done that to this type of car before so I'm going to be asking for a lot of help. First I need to nail down what kind of car I have. So I will start with how do I post photos first so I can show you guys what I have. Then I can move on to how to pull the radiator so I can start the work.A big thanks in advanced for any and all help.

Will1957, get the info from the body tag on the firewall and post it here. Also, get a 1933 Chevrolet repair manual.
One is available here: https://www.faxonautoliterature.com...l-Reprint-all-Cars-and-Trucks-P9148.aspx

It is a 1933 Master 2-door sedan. The body was built in Baltimore, Maryland. I'm at the Area-9 meet in Blue Ridge, Georgia right now, and I can't say what the paint and trim codes are. From where did you find 3747845?

Where on the car did you find that number? The paint code might be 132, which is black. Trim code 25 is brown mohair.

I believe the 33559 model is a four door master sedan. My 32 is model 32559 (four door sedan) and I had a 33 four door and I think the only difference in the model number was the first two (year) digits. It won't make any difference on the engine job as long as it's a master but I suggest you check the engine for casting dates just in case it has had a transplant.

Hey Bill, two or four it won't make any difference on the engine repair. I think the important thing is to be sure the engine is correct for the model.

On the older engines it was more in the center ;ower part of the block. As an example the 1933 Master casting number was 837231. Was the same number for 1934.

The block casting number and block casting date should be near the distributor, not behind the starter.

You guys are correct as usual as I checked on my 32 and it is between the distributor and the fuel pump. Thanks for the correction. Good to know I have back up by the M&N team.

According to the casting information that you provided, your engine is a 1933 CB commercial (truck) engine that was cast on June 28th, 1933.
