I recently purchased the remains of a 1928 Chevy roadster. Lots of rust in the lower portions of the body, and missing lots of parts, but I didn't pay much for it and enjoy a challenge. What I am looking for at present are all four door hinges, the splash aprons, and a right rear fender. Is there anyone in the Tucson, AZ vicinity that has some or all of these parts?

I believe the splash aprons are available as reproduction. Hope others can help you with the rest. Welcome to the site.

Check with Gary Wallace at earlychevyparts.com He may have some of those items. Also you can watch greedbay, or is epay? But dont bite on something you think is outlandish. Some of the prices are nuts. You should also ask in the "parts wanted" section of this forum. Are you looking to restore, or resto-mod your project? This forum is much more helpful if you are looking to restore.
Get in touch with the VCCA Phoenix region too and try to find a member who has a similar car. All of the 28 cars used common mechanical parts. Just the bodies were different. Get the chassis running and at least you can run it around your neighborhood.
I have been collecting parts to make a little depression style 28 roadster pickup similar to an Austrailian ute. I want to put the logo of the Chevrolet dealership in my home town on the doors like it was a parts runner (Southwestern Motors) It has taken me about 5 years to collect enough parts to start. In that search I have ended up with some spares so if you can not find them in a reasonable amount of time let me know. I did not want to take parts that someone with a much nicer start might need. No luck in the parts search yet. Talked to Gary Wallace - he doesn't have what I need right now. Mainly I need the door hinges so I can continue to replace wood and align the body. Even one open car door hinge would give me a pattern to make them. I must say that after almost 60 years of both restoring and hotrodding various makes and models of cars and trucks, this little Chevy is one of the hardest to find parts for. Luckily, I enjoy the search.
Thanks for asking
Jeff

Are the stock hinges hidden or the usual fisher body exposed out the sides. mike lynch

The roadster/touring door hinges are not visible from inside or outside the vehicle when the door is in the closed position. They are unique in that when the door is in the full open position, the door can be lifted slightly and removed from the vehicle.

the 1929--1935 special open car parts book shows those years applications only, does not deal with 28, but from your description they are exactly like the 29==35.
The Filling station showed them in their printed catalogue. The locking latching system is same as 30 ford 2 door touring and that is reproduced by an east coast company whose name escapes me.

sounds like the same door hinge system as used in my 35 phaeton and 35 roadster. The Chevrolet open car parts book only shows 1929---1935 items specific to the open cars.
THE FILLING STATION has a printed catalogue that shows the doors hinges that were available repo, but gone now.

these are on ebay still and seller has both sides.

Thank you - those hinges look fairly easy to replicate, and I will give that a try. Interesting that the door is removable.

I first discovered that with the roadster 1935, simply move a small tab out of the way, lift door off. Then you can drive around like a jeep ?
Totally weird. Touring is exactly the same. Must be some kind of SPORTS MODE. ?
Or a Bonneville option, whip doors off, pull fenders, and hood, drop exhaust and go racing.
WHIP THEM FURDS
