Hi,gents,I have a Chevy motor :stamped on machined pad ---T0827GF can any one help me identify what cu.in.this motor is and what type of vehicle it would have been put in.Can it be identified with these # what the type of tranny was used with it,(power glide ,3 speed or 4 speed,ect...)---this motor was put in a 1939 caddy coupe.Chevy dealers around my area give the I don`t knows or its to old our books don`t go back that far!THANKS TO ALL THAT HELP TOM P.

Tom, The GF suffix comes up for two applications. The casting number would be of help off the back of the block. The two aplications for the GF are pretty interesting and you could be sitting on few dollars with it, if the casting comes up. It could be either a 57 280 HP/283 FI engine with a turboglide, or it could have been 55-56 265 with a three speed with AC. Either way it is a desirable engine
