For a 1950 Chevrolet passenger car, did all cars have pin stripping on the wheels? Also, were the hub caps made from stainless steel or something else? Thanks

The 1949-1953 wheel had a stripe around the hub cap and one on the rim. can not get to my car right now.
The hub cap was steel with a brass skin crimped on. The skin was chromed plated.

The original 1951-1953 hub cap looked the same. The 1951 had the chrome plated skin. Due to the Korean was the brass skin was omitted the the steel hhub cap chrome plated. They soon rusted so during 1952 they stamped the hub cap out f stainless and that continued through 1953. After thaT ALL THE HUB CAPS AND WHEEL COVERS WERE STAINLESS STEEL.

I had mine hand striped by a pro. My spare still had the factory stripe visible on it, so we used it for location and measurements. The outer stripe goes right through the valve stem hole.

Thanks Gene and Bruce for the information. I just wanted to confirm that wheel stripping was on all cars and not an accessory. Here is a photo of the only wheel I have with the original stripping still on it. I plan on having the other five wheels sandblasted very soon. I plan on keeping this wheel for reference. Thanks again.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hubcap than ride in a Ferd.
