I am looking at a 1953 chevy sedan delivery mounted on a 1995 chevy shortbed truck frame.

Anything special that I should be looking for besides condition of body, which is rough.

Most of us here (me included) would prefer to advise you about a 53 body on a 53 frame but in saying that I would look closely at anything safety related (steering, brakes and how the body is mounted). When someone else has done modifications like that I doubt I would be taking the risk.

I agree with Tony. This would be a real "buyer beware" scenario to me.

I have had at least 6 Chevy Sedan deliveries. They were sort of my thing. 1st can’t imagine why they did that mod. Chevies of that year are plentiful. Also I have seen dozens of these deliveries modified, but never like the one you write about.
However if you go to both vehicles specs you can look up the differences in frame size. That should give you a quick idea of how they handled the easy changes. ie: body mounting etc. if those are “ sketchy” then you can bet the other more important areas are to ie: brakes, steering etc.
Good luck, I really enjoyed surfing the centra coast of Cali with those. Like my 51 best, but they all were cool.

Wheelbase difference is only 1 inch. It sits a little higher but that can be fixed easy. The only thing I see (without putting it on a lft) is they did away with the fuel tank and put a fuel cell in the back and you have to open the rear do to add fuel. Im gonna see if the guy will put it on his lift for me to inspect amd I like what I see I am gonna give it a rough test drive with him riding with me.
