From what I can find it was used on some large trucks and farm tractors.

Thanks for the reply!!
What I also should have asked was, can you use the voltage regulators for both negative and positive ground applications??
I have a 50 gmc that will possibly be needing one.... The thought of changing it to a negative ground has crossed my mind

Suspect the dual polarity means it's suitable for either Positive ground or Negative ground installations.
Be interesting to have a vehicle with Positive ground so I'd be tempted to keep the GMC that way if the electrical is still unmolested. The biggest concern is someone working on it that is not aware of Positive ground. I've always wanted a vehicle with Positive ground since it's unique and part of the character of that vehicle. Just have to make sure you don't do any electrical work after a few barley sandwiches..

Found this spec sheet about Delco-Remy regulators. This regulator is set to deliver 50 amps. ![[Linked Image from vccachat.org]](https://vccachat.org/gallery/81/full/8252.jpg)

As far as I know all Chev and GMC are negative ground from the factory. The most common positive ground vehicles I know of came out of England and had Lucas (the prince of darkness) electrics. Tony

GMC used Positive ground from late 30's to late 50's in USA and Canada. Not sure if small or big trucks or all but quite common to encounter...
Ahhh Lucas. I owned a Triumph for a month...just long enough to get all the electrical working properly, safety it and sell it.
