I have been reading previous forums as well as excellent diagrams and info by Bill Barker Skip Gear and Dick Olson regarding engine timing etc relating to 1931. I have a 1932. All info still applies? My distributor is Delco Remy model 633G. The notch seems to be in a different position. If the clips are parallel with the engine (6 and 9 o'clock), then the notch is at about 8 o'clock.

Yes.

My distributor is Delco Remy model 633G.
For 1932 your distributor should be a Delco-Remy Model 633J. It is the same distributor as the 633G but the lower end of the distributor body is slightly different.

633G came with the car. But it wasn't running when I bought it. Should work fine?

Even though the 633G "came with the car" when you bought it, that doesn't mean that the distributor is correct. At any rate, the 633G will work fine in your 1932 since the 633G is the same as the 633J except that the lower end of the body has a slightly different configuration as I mentioned above.

Thanks JD. Looks like 633G was for 1929-31. It's a Canadian built car. Maybe they were using the 633G to use up old stock? Anyway thanks for the info.

I had a question about the Electrolock. See my post under the general Electrical discussion.

If your cars is a Canadian 32, it will have Canadian made Delco parts, the tag will say made in Canada.
