I just received my March issue of the G & D today, 2/28/19. In it was my membership renewal form. I also received an e-mail telling me my dues are due tomorrow, 3/1/19. Has any one else had this problem of last minute notification? Why do late? Why was my notice of renewal sent with the March issue - not in the February or January issues? It's a widely know fact in business, if you want your money sooner, sent out the invoice sooner.

I had the same thing happen. It was irritating to me as well. I wrote a comment in the online renewal application when I paid it. Have to wonder how long this has been going on this past 12 months and how many members we lost because of it.

He's the person taking care of that stuff.....he should be the man with the answer.

Edit: I paid my dues on 1/24/19 (due 2/1/19). No problems paying, but I haven't got my new membership card yet.

I had the same experiance. No notice until the due date. I sent my payment into that address listed in the G&D ahead of time and got the notice later. Do not worry, they will not drop your membership.
If I were king I would send the renewal at least a month in advance. Now I woonder if you do not renew now will they send another notice or just drop you. Perhaps that is why membership is dropping. Magazines send you a notice well in adnvance and keep up sending til you renew.

The same here. I haven't received the March G&D yet but I go the email that my membership expires today. My payment will be late. I don't do online payments. Too much hacking.

I experienced the same thing today.......my G & D arrived yesterday with a renewal notice and I received an email today saying my membership expires tomorrow .......Tried to log in to renew on line and was required to reset my password.........that generated several error messages before it acknowledged a successful reset........then instructed me to log back in with the new password that doesn't work. Finally I was able to log in with my old password and see that others are having the same experience.........very frustrating performing what should be relatively simple tasks these days.......just ain't like it was........

Renewal notices are are sent in the month prior to the month of expire. For example: If you expire on Mar 1, you should have gotten an expire notice in the Feb G&D AND the March G&D.

Emails are send 2 weeks prior to expire, 1 day prior to expire, and 2 weeks after expiring.

I'm wondering if the printer screwed up and didnt send the notices properly in the Feb G&D. I'll look into it. Sorry for the problems.

Peter

FYI: I still always send the following months issue of the magazine to those that have recently expired along with ANOTHER renewal notice. Example: Those that expired in March19 will still get the April19 issue of the GD.

Hi Peter! One other thing that you might look into is the billing for "Services Offered" ads in the G&D. Years ago the VCCA always sent a reminder and a bill in the mail for the ad several months previous to the annual expiration date of the ad but for the past couple of years this hasn't happened. Now, each year I have to email the person in charge of the classified ads to see how much the current ad is for the upcoming year so that I can pay for the ad. A notification should be automatic.

If you receive the G&D via mail the address label has your expiration date in the header and an application is also included. Thanks to this thread I checked and mine is due April 1-no jokes please. Status can also be checked online in the members section of the home page.
