Just got my glove box door painted and now time to find someone to work on the clock,my 37 been converted to 12 volts and not sure if I will add a resistor or convert the clock mechanism. It all depends on the abilities of whoever I find to fix it and would prefer to find a wind up version if one was made so it would not drain the battery. The glove box door came from a 36 car and going on a 37 truck.

JYJ,

Are you sure your clock is electric? Man, that was before Benjamin Franklin even discovered electricity. Wow!

I think the motor in the clock only engaged when the main-spring neared wind-down, and only just a bit to rewind it.

Gene, Ray and Chipper know this stuff. Maybe they will let us know the skinny.

Good luck with it and convert it back to -volts. Please. But your call. Agrin

It has two wires going to it so its electric,I wish it was a wind up clock so there would be no draw on the battery when it sits for a long time. I took the electric clock out of one of my vehicles and installed the wind up version and would like to do the same with this one.

I have a quote to repair it and set it up for 12 volts so I am going to send it out soon, according to who gave me the quote this clock can only be repaired and no quartz conversion available. I like the sounds of those old clocks.
