I'm just beginning to see that every model year has its list of unobtainable parts. In my case, wiper transmissions, and now glove box parts. Can anyone out there in Chevyland tell me if a truck glovebox hinge can be modified to fit a '36 passanger car?? Are they remotely close in size and swing?? I appreciate your time. KenO

I would doubt very much that the truck version would work. This is due to the fact that the truck body was made by Chevrolet and the car body by Fisher.
The 1935 Master and all 1936 cars used the same hinge and is the only year to use that one piece hinge.

KenO If wiper parts are not available, use electric wiper motors , come in 6 or 12 volt.......SPEEDWAY MOTORS Glove box............keep going thru ebay USA searching for a truck one and also a car one, they usually show both sides of the glove box lid. mike lynch

Look in Hemmings Motor News at hemmings.com for wiper repair. There are several listed D&M Restorations in South Carolina since 1973 dandmrestorationn.com...Flicken Wiper Service, I have used and is good....wiperman.com.... on that glove box try rockymountianrelics.net or llclasicauto.com ...It is sort of like an Easter Egg Hunt. You got to find the part by hunting around for it.

Thanks guys, I'll sniff them out. At least its a WHOLE lot easier looking for parts on line, rather than hard copy line-by-line!!

Hello leagl!! A while back I was looking for a 1936 Standard passenger glove box hinge, and you stated that you may have the 1/2 that goes onto the glove box door. That half of the hinge is the tougher part to duplicate. I am thinking that I could fabricate the other 1/2 using your 1/2 for reference, and put the entire unit to good use in my sedan, if you care to part with it. I appreciate your consideration. Thank you, KenO

Ken, If you want to see a picture of the truck hinge, Jim Carter reproduces them and has a picture in his online catalog. I'll look at some wiper trans parts I have.

Many times you will find the club members who have extra part or two that will help you out. See a message that I sent to you.
