Some time down the road, I am going to have the front springs on my 51 1 Ton refurbished. Right now, I don't really know how they should look with just the weight of the truck on them but my shackles are sitting at about a 45 deg. angle. Should they be just about vertical ?
My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .

I would say that the correct way to judge would be he distance between the rebound bumpers and axle (or frame).I haven't checked the truck shop manual but would guess about 4 inches would be about all a front spring would need.
