I can't see and indication that there were interior cardboard panels on my car. Did the standard coupe have anything inside the passenger area and the trunk? I know there was no firewall mat.

I don’t know about your coupe but I would recommend to look very closely at all the wood framing and look everywhere. You would think tacks were at a cost premium because investigating my 32’ Olds I often found 2-3 tack holes over a 20-24” length of wood. This was 32’and I doubt they did things much differently in 29’. I don’t know how any panels stayed in place for very long. I suspect this is the reason many rear panels in our cars have not remained. I doubt many people years ago would climb into their cars with more tacks and a hammer to replace the panels. They probably either tossed them or layer them down on the floor pan until they got junky because of stuff piled on them. Then they probably threw them out anyway.

Thanks Christech, you are probably correct. I couldn't see any signs of panels, but there were a few tack holes. I wondered if panels were an option on the standard.

Check your 1929-32 parts book. It shows that kick panels were used on your 1929 standard coupe and that trunk panels were not.

Remember.......when you need specific information regarding the application of various parts for your car, always check your 1929-32 Chevrolet parts book first. If the information that you need is not in the parts book then we can probably help you with your question on this site.

Good luck with your project.

JD, if you mean the Master Parts Price List 1929-1932 book I could not find the panels listed for job 8880. They are probably in there somewhere. If there is another parts book I haven't found it at TFS. I hesitate to ask foolish questions, but my car did not have any remains of panels so I wanted to be sure. I appreciate your time.

Glad that you found the parts listed in the 1929-32 parts book. Yes, they are listed as "Pads" in the Trim section of the 1929-32 parts book. The problem is figuring out the terminology that Chevrolet uses in their parts books. I would call the parts in question "Panels" and not pads.
