My original 40 horns sound anemic. They've been cleaned up and the outside body has been painted. They both sound but lack power and authority. Ground wires are good and secure. The problem most likely is internal parts.

Any suggestions on possible adjustments or a recommended 6 volt horn rebuider would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Curt...

I recall quite some time ago we had a similar conversation in the 46-48 forum about horn adjustment. You might want to try a search in that forum. Otherwise attached is a photo of a 46-48 ? horn showing the adjustment nuts. Also attached is an instruction sheet we found for these horns.

Try looking through these "horn" posts.........might be helpful

Hi Ken,

For some reason the link does not work for me. Brings up a page that tells me I do not have permission.

I well remember that discussion, and again, thanks.

Try this link about the 46/48 horn adjustment.

Thanks for the photo and service bulletin. It looks similar to my 40. I'll fiddle with it soon and see what happens.

Russell........

Sometimes between my ignorance with computers and Chat's search function, funny things happen.

Most horns are adjustable but be good friends with your neighbours when you do it.
