I have a friend with a 58 impala, nicely restored and purchased from an estate, the problem is that the shift linkage has been redone and original parts not used, also the car is missing the inspection pan that fits the bottom of the bell housing around the flywheel. A search locally has not produced a pan that will fit. Is this pan specific to the 348 or can another one be used.I believe he has contacted several suppliers of resto parts for Impalas.

Glyn, WE need to know the type of transmission used on the 58 before researching the flywheel cover.
