Is the intake manifold on a 216 blue-grey or was it not painted?

Its was blue-gray - was painted "on the engine" so all mounting hardware was painted also.

Say Gene,

Question: How about a '54 235.......

Was this intake manifold also painted ON the engine?? So, same idea - all "mounting hardware" also painted on the '54 235??

Thanks for your help......

Bill.

From most original (unrestored) cars i've seen in the past, the engine was painted as an assy. The exhaust manifold, intake, water pump. In some cases some of the brackets too were painted engine color. I have a 68 z28 that has 2 alt. brackets for adj. One was put on at Flint(eng builder)is orange & the other put on by L.A. assy plant was black. Engines left their assy plant as completes minus starters & other electrical item & painted. Dist. also have some over spray on them...joe
