Thats why I am asking.

I see he posts stuff for sale on Hemmings and has for some time.

Looking for any actual experiences or hearsay for that matter.

Yeah, i don't get real warm fuzzy about him.

Lack of presence on Ebay is one factor, as a scammer doesn't last long there, also found some 2003 feedback on VCCA chat.

He sells on ebay often. Cant remember his rbay name. Make sure you get photos BEFORE you buy and validate the part is actually OEM if thats what you want. He has LOTS of good parts for many makes. Pricey too. Id say caveat emptor for sure

from the website he has a lot of highly desirable parts and wants top dollar and beyond.. " Asking and getting are not the same thing.! " Lots of people putting on a mask and trying to get paid, doesn't mean you have to step up and fork over.

I have found that searching eventually turns up what your looking for, if its on ebay and public knowledge. As soon as something comes along and sets a high price, a lot of other people also have that same item and they do appear soon after on ebay trying to get that high price. Doesn't usually happen.

Bide your time and wait and you will be rewarded . Nothing you can do with people possessed with lots of money who can easily outbid you for fun, unless your also a GOTZ.

A postal money order is the safest way to go and I strongly doubt that a scammer would request a US Postal Money Order. It becomes a federal offence if he does not deliver, and protects boths the seller and the buyer. US Post Office has their own police who specialize in those types of crimes. When in doubt I always use a USPSMO

Wow, just saw this and I’m surprised by some of the negative replies from those who’ve never dealt with him. Roy is in his nineties and has been dealing with old car parts longer than I’ve been alive. He’s a standup guy who now has his grandson help him. He personally is not internet savvy nor does he have a way to take CCs or PayPal. Postal money order is the safest way for him to do business. I went on his site a few months back and was just looking around when I thought I spotted an impossible to find, 1932’ Oldsmobile fuel tank. I called him and he told me it was a 30’ Chrysler tank but I asked him if I emailed him a drawing with dimensions of my tank would he be willing to check it out. He said that his grandson would get it off the email and he’d let me know. Very next day he called me and told me my dimensions fit his tank perfectly. I asked him how much and he said $75 and would box it up good and get me a price. A day and a half goes by and he tells me UPS wants $125 to ship which was no surprise clear across the country. Told him PM order was in the mail. 6 or 7 days later my tank arrived in the condition he described. I think transactions like that can’t get much better. I would deal with Roy again in a heartbeat. NOTE: you do have to confirm the part matches what you want. He was very adamant that he was right and I was wrong and was very surprised to learn the tank was for an Oldsmobile. He’s very old and done it so long, he’s earned the right to be wrong.

Roy does take Paypal if you press him on it.

I bought my items via PayPal, and got the stuff in about 8-9 days, no problems. He isn't the fastest shipper, but I don't think he does internet everyday.
