Where do the two ends of the brake return spring on the 35 Standard connect? What about the clutch return spring?

My brake book shows the spring attached from shoe to shoe at the cam end and does not specify Std or Master so likely they are the same for the spring. It does list other differences.

Thanks but I gave you the wrong spring. I'm looking for the pedal pull back spring.

Mine either. It only shows where it hooks onto the brake lever. There is nothing to hook the other end on to within about 15" and there is no hole there either.

Look on top of the frame, there maybe a piece of 3" triangular sheet with a hook at 2 corners and secured on the 3rd about 3" or 4" rearward of the pedals. 1 hook is for the brake the other is for clutch.
I have seen this on several pics on Chat but not sure if its for 35 or others.

The illustration in my 29-38 parts book shows a spring from the brake cross shaft facing rearward but does not show where it attaches. i am guessing a crossmember but that is only a guess. The illustration is generic for 29-35 and does not list a group number for the spring. On my 32 I put a clip under the pedal clevis pin and an eyebolt in a crossmember to the rear. With the correct spring and the location of the attaching forward end that should give an indication of where the rear would attach. Perhaps someone could advise where the forward end attaches-pedal or cross shaft ?

There are 2 holes where the clevis pin attaches the brake pedal to the cross shaft. One is for the brake pedal and the other is for the return spring. Can't find anywhere for the other end of the return spring to hook on to.

Look froward in a straight line towards the front of the car from where the spring attaches to the pedal. There should be a hole in the splash pan for it to hook onto. The splash pan has a rolled up part there.

I'll have to check. I don't have the splash pans on. I'm in the middle of the restoration and haven't gotten that far yet. Thanks. The same with the clutch, throw out bearing fork?

The spring has to go towards the rear because when the brake pedal is depressed the lever is pulled toward the front of the car. The spring needs to pull it back as the pedal is released. The clutch fork spring needs to go toward the front of the car. When you depress the clutch pedal the fork is pushed toward the rear and needs to be pulled back toward the front when released.

On the ”˜33 Master it is a hard pull but the brake pedal return spring hooks into a hole in the frame cross member towards the rear of the car.

I was just under my '36 Standard removing the master cylinder and both the clutch and brake pedal springs run forward onto the LH motor mount.
