I'm looking for a source for the rear spring, rear hanger/shackle for my 1953 3604 (3/4 t pu). I think the Filling Station has them, but I would like to find some other sources to compare prices. Since the same part (GM #3705599) was used from 1933 to 1968, I would think they might be available from truck suspension outfits. The truck spring shop that I bought my new springs from is out of business or I would have checked with him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to try the Truck Shop in California. They have a good selection of parts, and are generally more competetive compared to other sources in my area. There web site is www.truckandcarshop.com. Their phone number is 1800.CHEVY.47
I do recommend you look around because the cost can vary significantly.

Thanks, guys. I already have catalogs from all of the old truck specialty vendors, including all of the ones ya'll mentioned. Except for the Filling Station, none of the specialty vendors carry the 3/4T rear spring, rear shackle. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Jeff, I have a '54 3604 and sometimes encounter no part listed for a 3/4 ton truck also, while they will have plenty of 1/2 ton parts listed. I suggest you call these companies, because they commonly have parts they failed to list in their catalog. This seems counter-intuitive, because how can you sell products that aren't listed, but I think you'll be pleasantly suprised.

Good idea, Michael. A truck spring shop is doing some checking for me right now, but maybe I'll call several of the vendors and ask them. I'll let the list know if I find multiple sources of this item. Thanks again.
