Looking through some old post on proper cowl lacing replacement. My car was a basket case and all was removed prior to me. I have read about some type of hook that is required but it seems that the old posts do not show the pics. Can anyone lead me in the right direction of what I need and maybe some pictures so I do this correctly? Thanks

I should mention that most cars that I have seen at local shows just have lacing riveted to the cowl.

Also, what is done up front for the radiator support to hood lacing?

Thanks

Check this out

Cowl Lace Installation.

This shows what mine looks like. You'll need the end clips.

Yes, the radiator shell also has lacing, but it is different from the cowl.

If you use the wired lacing the hook captures the center wire. I didn't buy the wired so mine is connected to the side like Brian's. The Filling Station sells the hooks if you don't have them. The core support (radiator surround) doesn't use lacing but has rubber pads instead. I'm not sure where you can find the lacing end brackets if you don't have them since I've not had to look for them.

There are vertical rubber pieces that mount to the dog house,

anti squeak

There are 4 holes, equally spaced on the section of the dog house where the hood hits the side of the dog house.

My lacing has the wire, you can see it as the bump in the center of the lacing. You need to install this before the interior so you can bend the wire ends and tighten the hook before you install the toe board.

I was able to get my cowl lacing and anti squeak strip on the radiator surround installed today. Looks great. Thanks again!
