I need to replace the horn wire on my 32 1 1/2 ton truck. I took off the steering wheel and the tube and can see the contact ring but am afraid of damaging it. Is there any trick to getting it out of the tube? Thanks.

To get the mast jacket bushing out of the mast jacket you will have to drive it out with a long wooden broom stick handle or something similar. Most likely the mast jacket bushing with the brass ring will be ruined when you get it out. However, you can purchase and new mast jacket bushing assembly with the horn wire from the Filling Station. www.fillingstation.com

You will most likely need to remove the mast jacket from the truck, then a broom handle from the top and tap the bush down. It may well be ruined when it does come out.

To clarify, the mast jacket is turned upside down (steering wheel end down) and the broom handle goes into the mast jacket from the bottom and the mast jacket bushing is pressed out towards the top which is steering wheel end of the mast jacket.
