Is the 35 Std. radiator supposed to be flat, satin, or gloss? I am cleaning up the area while the water pump is out...
Thx.

Radiator paint has some gloss and was designed to not retain heat.

All the paint under the car and in the engine compartment except the fire wall was a cheap black. So it did not have the quality glossy look like the outside of the car. In an attempt to match that black [which I found in protected places not exposed] I used a semi-gloss black. [ my, 1936, Standard, Town Sedan].

Regular paint does not really conduct heat well, so is not the best choice.

Eastwood sells special radiator paint, other suppliers probably do too.

A friend of mine made his own by thinning non-fibred roof cement with gasoline.
Problem is that non-fibred cement is becoming very hard to find.

Probably best to paint just the top tank and leave the core alone.
