The 454 engine became available in the 1970 model year as an Option on Monte Carlo, Corvette and Chevrolet. The same was true for 1971 with the added availability on the Chevelle. Things stayed the same for model years 72, 73, and 74. In 1975 the 454 was dropped on the Corvette but remained available on Chevelle, MC, and Chevrolet. In 1976 the 454 usage was reduced to the Chevrolet lineup only. With the body redesign and downsizing that took place on the 1977 Chevrolet, the 454 was no longer available.

I have a 1970 with the LS4 454 option -- a Kingswood Estate. Came with the Turbo 400, factory dual exhaust and a 8 7/8" 12-bolt. A muscle car with fake wood on the sides, as I like to think of it!

Yes, I've seen a documented Malibu wagon with a 454. I beleive it was a 75 or 76 but I can't remember. He had some documentation from GM to prove it. There were very few built according the the letter from GM.
