What kind of rear air shocks would be the best to used on a 57 chevy to raise the rear end about 2 inches?

Air shocks are not recommended on the back of 1955-57 cars because they are attached to the trunk floor. The metal is often cracking already due to the shock action,
They do make a cross member/shock bar that bolts to the frame. Check with 1955-57 parts vendors.

That makes sense, Thanks for the tip, but I wonder whats the difference is in between a regular and air shock???

An air shock you can jack the back of the car up so it will carry more weight. Will put more stress on the trunk floor depending on how much air you put in them.
