After cleaning it in mineral spirits and oiling the many little shafts, the clock for my 55 belair now runs. Since this vehicle sits for at least a week at a time, I usually shut off the battery. Would a 9 volt battery hooked to the clock be enough to keep it running while the 12 volt battery is disconnected? Thanks, Sid

I would doubt that a 9 v0lt battery would operate a 1955 clock. I do not know what system is used in 1955 but if it the kick-back method, the 9-volt would not work for sure. I am afraid you are tied to the vehicle 12-volt car battery as your source.

If the car sets for long period of time, just put a battery tender on it.

You could do what I do. When I park the car and disconnect the battery I check the clock time, and the next time I use the car
or a day early I connect the battery to the time it was when it was disconnected. Easy & cheap !
