I know there are other older posts on this topic but I wanted to see opinions specifically for 48 Fleetlines and gear oil.
I'm planning on doing a trans and diff oil service. I've seen opinions on the 85w-140 and 85w-90 gear oils and GL4 vs GL5.
What brand of each oil have you guys used and what have been your experiences with either of them?
Thanks, Art

GL4 will be fine for a 1948. GL5 can be used in the diferential and some brands say their GL5 as a buffer making it safe for transmissions with brass/bronze parts.

I've been looking at the Lucas SAE-85W-140. Do you think that would work for trans and diff?
