After reading several posts here about using their brake linings, I went on the M/C site to find several material options. Is the semi-metallic high strength best for my 35 standard EC? My research says 1-3/4"x3/16"x10-5/16" is correct for front and rear. Please advise.

According to an internet article (Government paid report ) woven asbestos lining with integral wire was introduced in 1908. In 1926 they began using molded lining with asbestos. There was no reference to manufacturer/OEM usage . The woven lining of today is used because of it's stopping ability particularly with mechanical brakes. I can say that the modern lining wears well as I have my brakes apart after 12000 miles and there is very little visible wear. The only reason I am working on them is to reduce brake squeal .
