My top assembly has a metal frame going to the rear bow covered with a wood bow which is covered with top material. My question is the center bow frame has the wood bow that starts about six inches away from where it attaches to the rear bow frame. There is that six inch gap on the center metal frame with two holes centered about two inches apart. Is there supposed to be covering on that section and if so just fabric or fabric and wood. Any pictures would be appreciated. It would seem that at most it should be fabric covered because anything else would stop the top from lowering but the holes confuse me.

Thank you for the photo, yes that does help. My center bow wood doesn't come down on the metal as far as yours does. Probably to costly to change at this time given I'm not into showing as much as driving but I keep trying to improve it. I would post some pics but I haven't figured out how to make the files small enough to upload.

Does this look like it was factory done or do you think someone did this for some reason?

Email the pictures to yourself and then copy them. The MB or KB will be reduced hopefully enough to be able to post the pictures. Look at the numbers when you send them and then the numbers when you copy them into JPG format.
