40-1511 = 1940 Master Deluxe 2 door
S17958 = body built at the StLouis Fisher body plant and the 17958 = it was the 17958th Master Drluxe body produced at the StLouis plant
Indicates the car was assembled at the StLouis plant. The serial number will tell what month....body and style reversed above

Trim 97 = tan mohair interior (no other choices)
Paint 268 = Portwine maroon with gold/bronze stripe. Portwine maroon was a non-metallic maroon and replaced mid-year by Ruby maroon metallic.......
