I was once a VCCA member several years ago with a '36 standard. Life happens and I had to sell the '36... More life happens and before you know it more life happens and it's been years. Recently wrapped up some major changes and decided to return to the club. What to do?... Hop in a truck and drive 1700 miles to pic up my "new" Chevy! Left home early this AM and am sitting in a hotel watching pawn stars with the Mrs before getting some shut eye in preparation for another long day on the road. Stay tuned!

Looks like an interesting story. At any rate, you might post the above in the General Discussions forums instead of here in the New User Forum which is for new users to the forum to post their first topic.

Welcome back.
You have overcome a major hurdle in the old car game, getting the wife's permission.
When you get the chance post a few pics of the "new toy".

Thanks Tony!

Needless to say the pickup for the car went downhill fast from the initial post and rates as one of the lousy experiences in life for sure... We did get it home though and trying to get it running. Its a 1929 sedan, i'll post pics in a restoration thread i'll start.

Lahti35 I remember you. I also have a 1936 and still have it. I added a 1954 Chevrolet 3600 since last hearing from you. I drive my vehicles 1 to 2 times a week and love doing it. Welcome back and I am glad life has allowed you to re enter the old car owner hobby. Your 1936 YouTube video is still there.

Yup that was me, although I think the video that's up there is the seller's I bought the car from...

I'm glad to be back too... it's amazing how moving twice, being downsized, finding a new job, house renovation and a major accident consume 110% of life for a number of years. I wish I had been able to keep the '36 but it was not to be. It's all good though, I've got my old member # back and a new '29. I've spent the last two weeks working on it trying to get it running even though the car was sold as an "excellent running and driving car"... we all know how that goes sometimes! chevy
