Can anyone tell me how one would go about getting a copy of the original factory build sheet for my car?

Thank you,

Paul R

if your car is a corvette and its a 67 up, a copy of the build sheet may still be glued to the top of the gas tank. pre 67 vettes didn't have build sheets in the car. unlike cadillac and pontiac, build sheet data isn't available from gm for our chevys with the exception of the corvettes built in bowling green ky. if you want info on mid-82 up vettes, the factory data is available.mike

Take a look under the inner right front fender. Between the fender and the inner fender. As the vehicle left the assembly line it was generally slapped up there with a dab of tar.

Another place to look is in the spring area of the rear seat cushion or lazy.In most assembly plants the seats were built in an area(cushion room) away from where the seats were installed on the assembly line. When the seat was loaded on the conveyer the build sheet was shipped with the seat so the operator could match it with the vehicle it was to be installed in. A lot of times those build sheets were stuffed in the bottom of the seat.

thanks for the responses. The car has had a frame off restoration and no build sheet was found on the car. I have heard that Chevrolet has some build sheets archived. Is this true and if so, how or whom would I contact to get the information?

thanks,
paul r
