First let me start by saying hello to a great group. I recognize several names from other forums, and have been given lots of good advise. I'm working on a '46 Fleetmaster coupe and wish to install a '40-'47 1/2 ton Chevy truck 3 speed tranny and bellhousing. the problem is I haven't been able to locate one locally. the reason for the swap is because I have installed headers on a 1961 235 and have clearance issues with column shift. also I would prefer floor shift as I intend to build the car as a retro rod with dual exhaust and dual carbs, I also don't wish to swap the torque tube for a more modern rear end. I'm trying to build cheap and close to an early '50s influenced rod. thanks for letting me ramble.

You could also post in the personalized vehicles section (probably the more appropriate) a bit further down the forum.
