I think I ran out of gas.It would not fire at all. I added gas in the tank then a little in the carb.. She started right up. But runs bad when wide open. I have noticed that the clear filter between the pump and the carb. is all most
empty. I filled the filter with gas and went for a drive now the filter is empty again. Is this bad???

The bowl will not always be completely full but some fuel should be visable. If vehicle has been sitting for some time I would check -

fuel line for obstructions

dirty "sock" filter in tank

weak fuel pump-both volumn and pressure should be checked

I do not know what was wrong but it caught on fire Sun. I now need a new carb.. It had a Edelbrock 1406 600 cfm on it(never right). What should have been on it? 62 Corvette with 67 impala 327/275 hp.

The 1967 275 horse engine used a Rochester Quadrajet. Will fit (correctly) a 1967 only and will also require the correct intake manifold and air cleaner.(and choke thermostat and rod).Never run any of these engines with out an air cleaner installed---they can back - fire and burn.Thats why the air cleaner is call a filter and flame arrestor.

why not look around for an AFB if your 62 was a 300 or 340 hp vette or an old WCFB if it was a 250 hp. if it was originaly a 360 hp, the rochester fi unit will be right salty. You'll also need a cast iron intake,( a 62pass car 250 and 300 hp intakes are faily easy to come by.) the aluminum intake found on the 340 hp vettes are a little more difficult to obtain and more costly than its cast iron brothers. good luck, mike

He said he had a 1967 327 engine. The AFB and WCFB would not fit on a 1967 327 Quadrajet intake and the 1962 intake wuold not fit on a 1967 engine (PC valve).

any of the 62 intakes will fit a 67 327. all the 67 327's had provision in the block casting to accept a road draft tube and/or the plumbing for a pvc valve whereas the later 327 with large journals lacked machinging on the block in the vicinity of the distributor for a road draft tube/pvc plumbing. regards, mike

Intake # 3875964 GM8 T @B196@ on the front is the fireing order. The holes are two large round in back and two smaller round in front.
It had a Edelbrock 1406 on it . And it looks like an adapter for it to bolt to
