I have 6 volt LED bulbs in my 1950 tail lights.. They are brighter. I believe I got them from Chevs of the '40's a few years back.
I tried Halogen bulbs but they had problems.

I am not aware of anyone producing LED replacement bulbs for reflector style headlights of that era

I agree with Gene that halogens might not be a good answer. They might be brighter but they draw a lot of current and produce a lot of heat.

Thanks. I think I will try the 6 volt to 12 volt “step up” and try 12 volt LED headlights. I’d like to keep the truck 6 volts, as I have no issues. However, I’m not interested in halogen for multiple reasons. I’ll let you know if and how it works.

I've seen 6v LED motorcycle bulbs that are meant for the reflector style lights. The connector style looked the same. It takes some time searching as most searches will get you thousands of results. Please let us know if you find some as many of us would be interested but just not at that point in our projects...

Have a look at this company in Australia, http://www.classicandvintagebulbs.com/page6.html they have some great products, he has a site at Hershey and Carlisle and most major swaps in Australia.
I have been happy with his products but haven't tried the led headlight bulbs.
