I think that I would be reluctant to do a frame off on a 4 door hardtop, but if you must, then please build your self some good braces to keep the door openings rigid. I knew a guy that used 2" and 1 3/4 " square tubing, on a F.O.R.D. retractable hardtop, he slid the small tubing inside the large and had plates on the end of the tubing, bolted the plates to the door posts then welded the tubing where the small one went inside the large one, that kept the door opening stable, when he finished putting the body back on the frame he cut the braces in two and removed the bolts. I thought that was a good idea at the time. You may want to put some braces from one side to the other side also. make the braces in the shape of a "H"

Give Steve L. a call or e-mail he is the 1965-69 VCCA Tech Advisor listed in the G&D He has done in the past several frame off restos on these cars, and he is just finishing one now on a 65 Biscayne. He will be a world of help, his knowledge on these cars is really impressive,

I built a lot of 1 1/2 inch angle iron and square tubing and I also cut holes through the old floor pans which I replaced also. I used threaded rods on the door jams also. I replaced the rockers and rocker braces first. Then I was ready for the pans. It was a pain but it worked.
