I have two holes next to the handle. There is wood behind them. Can anyone tell me what should go in there? Some kind of screws?
Thanks

I don't believe there should be any holes. They probably need to be repaired.

yup, somebody tried to put an incorrect trunk handle like a ford in there..................bad prior owner person.

For filling the holes there is a tool called a ROTABROACH. Its like a hole saw except it has a spring loaded pin instead of a drill bit in the center. Measuring the inside of the cutter part with a drill bit for size. You can cut perfect fitting metal discs to fit the hole needing filling. Clamp or use magnet to hold in place. On ebay there are sets listed very reasonable.

You can cut out the metal to fit tight in the hole, allowing : gas welding , tig or mig. If using TIG you can melt the filler piece without any filler rod.

Did all the extra holes in my 35 std frame this way.

I was thinking the holes were for some type of emblem, or sign. Like a license topper.

Tim, there is various sets on ebay with diff sizes of cutters. I took a drill and fit it into the rotabroach cutter until I got a tight fit. I used the drill bit to open the frame or firewall hole up to the matching size. Made for a real nice tight fit.

Because the cutter teeth are on an angle it cuts thru outside first then inner second. Leaves a lipped edge, just use belt sander and pliars to hold part to clean up.
