Are the back passenger windows in the doors suppose to go all the way down? I have looked in the shop and owners manual for the anwer with no luck. Currently the '51 station wagon I have the windows only go down 2" this doesn't seem right. I wanted to check here before I open them up . Any adjustment suggestions?
Thanks,
John

Are you asking if the right rear door glass goes down 2 inches or are you asking if BOTH rear door glasses, left side and right side only go down 2 inches ?

Mine is not a 4 door.

Whatever happens on one side would be mimicked on the other side.

For better coverage and for more responses you should post in the 1949-54 forum further down on the forum list page.

I would not be surprised if the rear windows do not go all the way down. 2" seems a little small but I doubt if they will open fully. I also find it interesting that both windows function the same. That means either both regulators were assembled incorrectly or that is the design.

Measure the height of the glass. This is about the distance that the window has to drop to open completely. Compare that to the space available inside the door, especially at the rear where the size is reduced to fit the wheel well.

I seem to remember some cars that we had in the 50's where the rear glass would not drop down completely.

The 2 door rear side window is restricted by the wheel house, the 4 door station wagon does not have that issue.
