New to VCCA! Bought a 1951 station wagon and was given the 3rd seat. I need to know the proper location as I will have to drill and place bolts. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Trap1951

There is a long time VCCA member who has a 1951 wagon, I believe.

His name is Bill, his email is chevybillf@gmail.com

He may be able to assist, but I do not know if he has the third seat, or not, in his '51.

I have not seen Bill on here, in some time.

Worth a try, a nice gent.

Click the link and scroll to Page 17 Body Interior Dimensions.....

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/do...mation-kits/Chevrolet/1951-Chevrolet.pdf

It doesn't give bolt hole dimensions, but may be helpful.

Good luck !!

Bill hasnt been seen on Chatter since late Febuary, with that in mind email would be the best method of contact.

I talked to him in person in April. He is still around.
If I'm not mistaken, he has his "woodie wagon" for sale.

Ken,
Got all the measurements I need (I think) I was able to open. page 17. I should be able to drill the holes based on positioning the seat properly.
Any other suggestions? I saw one set up with wing nuts for easy removal, does that sound right?

Glad to hear you were able to open the pages.
The only other suggestion I have is a basic one......the shop manual for your car should be the first thing you buy for it. Then I would suggest getting a reprint of the Owner's Manual. The owner's manual might give you some insight on how the seat is to be removed/installed to provide seating for passengers or space for cargo. These manuals are available at reasonable cost through the usual vendors such as The Filling Station or Chevs of the 40s, etc. If you look around online you may find them as well.

You may find some help with this link....

The GM ISSUED '49 to '53 SERVICE MANUAL with '54 SUPPLEMENT and the 1949 FISHER BODY MANUAL shown above are two different manuals ..... just to keep information correct.

Got the third row seat installed. As I took up the carpet and wood I found the attachment holes. They were threaded so it was easy enough to install. Thanks to everyone for their help.
