I am on the verge of buying a 1931 Chevrolet Roadster that is missing it's side curtains and the rods. Can anyone tell me where I could get them made or if someone has a set for sale?

LeBaron Bonney is one place you can get the side curtains. As for the rods you can make them up yourself or watch ebay to see if a pair comes up. From previous experience there appears to be a variety of sizes so you have to be careful what you get.

If it isn't broken, fiddle with it anyway so you have something to repair.

For the rods call Kent at 937 547 1672. I got mine from there and they were good, Ralph helped him for the pattern. Roger

For any roadster parts, call Ralph and Kent. They make the best parts. Even for Fisher Body cars.

Jeff, you don't know who Ralph and Kent are? Where have you been? I know living under the hood of a 33 phaeton! Only the best guys in the world who make open car parts! And Fisher body parts.

If you want to wait until mid-July or so I have to build a set for one of my Roadster Pickups. Will need to buy the rod as I used the last for the side curtain rods for my '31 Phaeton. Going on the VCCA pre-29 Tour next week so will not get done until I get back home.

I also have a set of old side curtains that have been used by a couple of folks to make some for their '31 Roadsters. I will need to also make a set for my '31 Roadster so you can't have them for keeps.

Chipper,
I just bought a 31 Roadster and I also have no side curtains and rods. If I could ask, could you please take some photos of your original set for me so I can see what originals look like. Also could you take photos of how the quarter curtains attach to the body and top bows?

What would be perfect would be if YOU actually posted the telephone number or email contact information for Kent, or Ralph McEown ?

You do this all the time assuming that others on this site know as much as you supposedly do and make posts like the quote above.

Are you trying to show a supposed superiority of knowledge. Because your not using your brain when you make these posts.

Mike, Some people might not want their email or phone number posted on a public forum. Without specific permission, updated occasionally to be sure it is current, noone's contact information should be posted. I receive too much unsolicited or unwanted communications already. I don't need more. I am happy to help others preserve or restore their old Chevrolets particularly VCCA members!

In that case what we need is a section where people like Kent Noone who produce specific reproduction Chevrolet parts are listed on here and the contact info posted, even if its only a company and street address.

Ralph McEown I knew about and had talked to him a couple of times and purchased something for my 35 roadster.

I have no idea who Kent Noone is and what he produces and where he is located and I have been on here 7 years.

Kent is a fabricator and part duplicator. He is not in the retail or advise business. His efforts are sold by other people. So there is no need to know how to contact him.
