I don't see a body ground strap used on my car so was it expected the ground was made thru the body mounting bolts? I have the frame ground strap from the trans lug which is connected to the battery neg post.

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes, I was surprised that there was not a separate body ground strap on my '37 Master Coupe. It seems to be working fine. The reason I am surprised is because this means that the engine and transmission have to ground through their mounting bolts to the frame and then the body has to ground to the frame.

There are some people who have added a heavy gauge (10 or so) wire from the trans lug to the body.

There is no body to frame ground. Not necessary.

My frame was powder coated and the body dipped / sprayed so I am not expecting any good grounds thru the body bolts. I will run a 10AWG
strap from the trans lug to the body as suggested.

Thanks
Mike
