Hello fellow VCCA members!

My name is Art and I am very glad I became a member of the VCCA.

I recently had the fortune to find a super clean 48 Fleetline Aero sedan from Ohio. It seems to be very original with extremely low documented mileage.
It has 6500 miles on it. I've always loved the sleek look of the Fleetline aero.

I got the car in delivered to my workplace shop in early March. Took me a while to update the master cylinder and replace the brake lines. I installed a Pathfinder turn signal switch and had my friends match the column paint. Runs real smooth but was a bit too quiet for my taste. My coworkers joked that it sounded like a hybrid. I removed the muffler and made it a straight pipe all the way through. Now it has a medium purr and rapp sound that's enjoyable but not obnoxiously loud. My model had the Motorola radio and it did not work. I found a correct 48 deluxe radio and had it rebuilt and upgraded to the Aurora 2.5 audio unit with FM and Bluetooth functions.

I look forward to meeting and chatting with all of you about these wonderful machines. I love putting on my Stetson Stratoliner and listening to Benny Goodman and old 40s Cuban music in my Fleetline.

Regards,
Art

Welcome to the VCCA, Art! Beautiful car. I'm not sure how we Ohioans let that one get away from us!! :-) Glad you're enjoying it already. I still haven't uncovered my '48 yet, but it's time!!! I think we're done salting the roads here now...

Thanks for the welcome my fellow members! I got this beauty from Peters Motorcars in Norwalk OH. Great find! I had been looking at this 48 for some time and finally got my wife's blessing! I now plan on doing some tuneup work. Got a carb rebuild kit and all the ignition parts. Look forward to tuning up my car this weekend. Might end up taking me a couple of weekends.

Art,

Real nice car. You'll enjhoy it. And welcome to Chat.

Best,

Charlie computer

BTW: Generally 47/48 Aero-sedans fleet line owners stick together like a bunch of aristocrats with old money and look down their noses at us their lessees. I hope you'll not acquire this lofty attitude and enjoy the esprit de corps among all old Chevrolet owners. Sadly, many have started out somewhat humble but have been caught up in the quest for superiority and high class that befalls those who have realized their cars may be superior to others. Don't worry we will still answer your questions and hope we never have to see your car on the "hook." dance

BTW2: That stinkin fulton does nothing for the car. If fact, extensive scientific studies have shown that it actually deminishes the beauty of a any car, especially the areo fleet line. You may condider tossing it. That would be the wise thing to do. Sadly many of the 47/48 owners do not follow my sound advice on this issue. Pity that. Those things identify you with hillbillies from the sticks who have had their Saturday bath and to town come in to town for some new banjo picks and store bought tobacco products but not to visit the dentist,. See some of them enjoying themselves by viewing "Deliverance." You don't want folks to associate you with buck dancing, banjo picking and pigs a-squealing. hoodNo sir! You're welcome. Agrin

Art: a word of advice. Don't take Charlie seriously. He has been picking on us 47/48 aerosedan owner fro a long time. Me thinks he is jealous!

Sharp car you have there.

Oh, you're really lucky! I remember that I saw last year this car for sale, I wanted this car, but I had first to sell one of my vintage car to make room in my garage. I've sell one since, but now I'm looking for a Chevy fleetline like this that hasn't been customized, wich is really hard to find!!! Lucky you, have a really nice car! Congratulations!
