My car is a 33 Master 5 window coupe and one of the clips on the distributor holding the cap in place is broken. I have a new clip that I got from the Filling Station. Is there any easy way to replace this clip? Do I need to drill the pin out, or can I use a nail or something and push it out by tapping with a hammer? I don't want to ruin the distributor because there is nothing wrong it. Should I remove the distributor from the engine to do this? Thanks, Dennis

The little sqare retianer that the spring is hooked to is fastened to the distributor housing with a threaded screw.

Do I need to drill the pin out As Gene said, the clip assembly is held in place with a machine screw. The screw is an 8-32x3/8 round slotted head screw. There is no pin holding the clip assembly in place.
