Not sure if this belongs here b/c i'm still new to this forum but gotta start somewhere...so....

I once found a picture of a 49 to 52 chevrolet frame. The frame had everything attached including the steering column and steering wheel. The body and front sheet metal were not attached. A man was sitting on a milk crate or wood box at the steering wheel with his feet on the brake and clutch pedals. The frame and all parts were nicely painted and sitting in a brightly lit garage. I thought i found it here at VCCA years ago, but mostly all i see now are requests to "update your Photobucket account for third party hosting".

I need a pic of any frame from 49-52 with or without parts attached. I cant find one through a google or bing search b/c the internet is apparently so big everything except a pic of a 49-52 frame shows up. The internet is so big the search results now require a sub-search engine. I don't know how to do that and don't have the time to keep searching. Then i remembered i had a vcca chat account from years ago. I even recall seeing a promotional pic or postcard of an assemble frame that was in color and the engine was red, the transmission yellow, the differential green or maybe other colors were used.

Any idea where i can get a pic or more of a 49-52 chevy frame?

I don't know what you're trying to see, click on this link, look at pages 2-1, 2-2 and 2-3.

note that if you are looking for a 1949-1952 frame the 1949-1951 are the same except the 1950-51 was made stronger than a 1949. The 1952 had the transmission cross member relocated so could cause problems if use on a prior model.
The Bel Air hardtop frame has extra rienforcements and a convertible has the large rienforcing "X" in the center.

i have that detailed frame drawing in my shop manual.
I'm looking for an actual photograph of someones frame, preferably with all the parts attached except the body and sheet metal like the one i recall seeing years past.
Or the promotional drawing/detailed sketch that GM must have put out in late forties to promote the frame and all its parts. It was a very colorful and detailed drawing/sketch with the engine a bright color, the trans a different color, the diff a 3rd color.

thank you so much. thats just what i'm looking for.
Must be another one out there as well that is also a colorful artist drawing. the one i recall seeing had a yellow background and the view angle was a little higher, but still looking downward and diagonal at the complete frame. The parts were color coded similar or same as that drawing but i dont remember seeing the description of new features at the bottom.
The descriptions they used for the "new features" are great fun. They are so revealing of society in the late 40's and also educated me on several points i didn't realize about my car.
Thanks again.
