Hi All - Need a new Battery and looking at the Optima 6 volt. The dimensions look off. Does any have this battery and were there modifications need to the battery tray under the floor? It seems like the old lead acid batteries are lasting as long as they used to and its getting harder to find the battery around here. Thanks for the help.

Although it may take a bit more in the way of adaptation for a '35, I found a hold-down bracket that works on my '52 business coupe that is designed for a 6-volt Optima. It just took bending the attachment arms and setting the battery diagonally in the tray. I bought it from Bratton's Antique Auto Parts ( a Ford Model A supplier) at www.brattons.com. You can contact me off-line at gdchildsjr@sbcglobal.net for a photo if you like.

I used a marine battery box from Walmart and cut it down to fit my battery box under the floor and the Optima battery fits fine diagonally as well. You can also contact me for photos as well

Holds it nice and tight to the stock battery tray in my '33. Doug

I found rigid styrofoam that does not absorb water. Sandwiched the two long sides of the battery. It’s dark gray, it’s not noticed from underneath. And it holds the battery in place. Easy Peasy.
