Yesterday I pulled # 1 plug wire and the metal broke off and stayed on the plug. Oriellys had a wire set in stock that would work, but had to order plugs. The old ones were M8. They gave me Autolite 3136. This is the cross from the AC M8. I pulled one out of the box and the two young counter guys said "I never seen plugs that small". Of course these are the 10mm plugs. Gave me a laugh.

1941-1948 Chevrolet cars and trucks used the "Peanut" spark plugs. In 1941 and 1942 they were 104 and 106 numbers. The new and improved version in 1946 was the M-8. Were also ued by Buick and Packard but for fewer years than Chevrolet.
Chevrolet said they stand up better under heavy duty conditions because they warm up faster when cold and run cooler at high speeds - and a bunch of other B.S. JUst like they said the polarity reversing switch had so many advantages.
