I have been trying to phone Jim Rodman. He does not answer. Hope he is still in business? Need complete wood for 1932 Chevy sport coupe. Anybody else have any experience with him?
Thanks.

I notice you are in Ontario. If you arent getting anywhere with Autowood, try shooting a PM to Cabboy on this forum. He makes wood, and I believe is located in Ontario.

Look in the old threads too. There was one about Autowood recently. In my experience, the people who make wood tend to be booked up for a long period of time and difficult to contact. This is not unique to Autowood,

There is another discussion on this forum about Autowood.

There are several other suppliers and a few who are on this forum.

I had the best luck calling Jim at Autowood first thing in the morning, his time. I had good luck and it is excellent wood.

Tried him early morning and other times. Guess I'll just keep trying. Thanks Dave.

OK. Many thanks. I'll check out other sources including Cabbboy. I'm not that far from US border and usually ship to Port Huron Michigan no problem. Heard a lot of good about Jim Rodman so that's why I am trying him.

You might have to wait a long time to get a wood kit from Autowood Restoration (Jim Rodman). His wood kits are fantastic but it is not uncommon to wait several years before getting the wood kit.

Hi there, I saw your post. I do re-wood of bodies and not kits per se. I can duplicate wood if there is enough of the original. If you can access facebook I have a page there titled "Automotive Wood Bodies" where I have many pictures of my work. I am presently working on a 1928 Durant. I am also working on three 1929 Chevrolets. I am located in Oshawa.
Regards,
Robin

Please be cautious doing business with Jim Rodman. I sent him a check for $2,000 and never head back, never answers the phone and doesn’t even have an answer machine.

I am really surprised to hear that. I called him last year and spoke to him about a roof for my 35 Standard. He was very pleasant and informative. I ordered the roof, sent the check, and received it in a very timely manner. I installed it without any problems. Fit like a glove after a little trimming. He makes 1 roof kit for 35. It fits the Master (a little bigger than the standard). Something must have happened because I have seen a few posts like yours recently.

The wood in my 32 came from Jim Rodman. About 50 per cent was ordered. The person doing the work insisted on ordering as he did not want to wait for me to fabricate . It took a little over six months to get after several promises of "next week" and that was almost 20 years ago so not much has changed with Jim's service. The good is his product is excellent-the bad is there is no consistency in his delivery.
