In the old forum, folks could subscribe and see posts in real time in their email. That was very convenient to monitor a forum thread without logging in. I’m not sure that feature is still active.

I’m in Charlotte away from my desktops I can’t check right now.

I do like some of the features on the new upgrade, however, the old forum didn't have all of the problems that we have on the new forum. Also, with the old forum when something did go wrong the problem was fixed right away.

Someone hit the nail by what I am seeing, Bill was hardly ever offline and watching most proceedings and was able to fix the little problems before they got out of hand. I do the welcome to newbies as last thing on the forum but on a couple of occassions I had sent Bill a PM about a suspect newbie and for various reason I came back a couple of hours later to find Bill had investigated, acted and replied to the PM. Since the change over to Peter I have referred a couple and only by chasing the trail did I find that there was a resulting action. I have no way of knowing if a newby is a problem or not but I have found the certain names deserve looking at and if from China and especially occupation as Doctor gets referred to Peter.

Hi Jim Karras---

The feature you speak of is still available----it just doesn't work right now because the site is having problems with email notifications. I use that feature to monitor all the Forums I'm assigned Moderator duties for.

BTW---the Chat Group Chapter of which you were a member has been disbanded.

Yep.......BBB was on this site several times each day (if not more) checking out the new postings and proceedings. He even checked the site regularly when he was traveling or on vacation. Maintaining and checking out this site for problems and/or issues is almost a full time job alone, especially now with the existing problems and the new issues that pop up from time to time.
