This is the first re-listing.
I think the reserve the first time around was $125K.

The first time around the car was listed at $125,000 as the opening bid WITH a reserve above the opening bid. The car is now listed at $85,000 WITH a reserve. The vehicle was professionally appraised at a top value of $50,000 because the car is a fake and the owners know that the car is a fake. There is only one real 1932 Chevrolet Moonlight Speedster and it is Queensland and not NSW Australia as they stated in their item description on eBay. The car has been in Queensland for about 4 decades.

This is different than the hacked up car car with the butchered wooden tail that caused a stir a few month ago. So there are 2 fake versions of this car kicking around? This one at least looks clean and would be a nice car if represented and priced properly...

The second car that you mentioned with the "wood buck" is also currently for sale for $55,000. Previously it was for sale for $125,000. The car is a cut-down 1932 Coach. Here is a link to the Hemmings ad for the vehicle.

On the eBay add it says CO and the car is registered in FL. Selling to pay for moms health bills? Sounds like a scam. The other car in Hemmings makes it sound like the wood part of the body is one of the ten originals. Just curious what the real story is. Kind of an odd but different looking car.

I like the overall looks of the car and even if not "original" a great conversation piece. It is however way overpriced and has a very shoddy looking engine compartment. Not only are things incorrect but there appears to be a serious oil leak in front.

I agree. There are many, many things incorrect on the vehicle. Initially the seller was asking $125,000 for the cut down 1932 Coach chassis and the wood buck body.....better known as the "Woodworm Speedster".

Quite a story, thanks for the link Canadiantim. Should have worn my boots when reading that. The things people will claim. I’m seeing a fair amount of it myself with the 32’ Olds crowd. I’m amazed at what some have claimed as “original “ when research of factory documentation and known original cars shows those claims incorrect. They still claim they have the only one or a factory one-off with no provenance to back up their claim. One is as crazy as a 36’ AC Delco q fan cooled generator came as original equipment on a 32’ Olds.

Looks like the "Woodworm Speedster" is getting closer to it's true value.

That is a major difference from his original asking price.

This new ad almost looks suspicious. It looks like someone grabbed the info from the real ad as some details look wrong like 8 cylinder. Call and see if they want a money order or apple gift cards for payment and if the car is "already crated for shipping" so can't be viewed...
