My '51 has a right side visor, not installed after new headliner was added. I have attempted to install the "rod" which is part of the visor, into the visor mounting bracket, which is fastened to the roof / headliner area. The rod does not want to "connect", or interlock with the bracket. My fear is if I push too hard, the mounting bracket will break. Any suggestions welcome, I can take pics, if you believe pics would help.

I believe it will be necessary to loosen the tension screw on the braket/support and spread the opening which is split.

Apparently the rod has too large a diameter. Light sanding of the rod may remove just enough material for it to fit into the bracket.

Can you remove the mounting bracket and with the rod clamped in a vise tap the bracket onto the rod with a soft mallet. Putting the rod in the freezer overnight might also help to shrink the rod a little.

I took it out, installed it perfectly, with no hiccups. Thanks Steve.
