In my Canadian model manual it shows double acting non airplane type shocks.
My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .

In 1939 the Master 85 had single acting lever shocks. The Master Deluxe had double acting lever shocks. Cross section picture of the single acting on page 59 of the 1939 shop manual. The double acting give a better ride. I don't know if they would be a direct bolt in on a '39 Master 85. I think I have a pair of new M.D. shocks. Would require the use of double acting links which fit 1939-1948 and available.
The shop manual shows nothing about rebuilding shocks.
